CLIR
Patient:XXXXXXXX Date of exam: 21/3/2011
Date of Birth:12/12/67 Date of Study: 8/5/2011
Gender: M Referred By: Dr J. AKL
DIAGNOSTIC OBJECTIVE:
Assessment of the anatomical structures included in the volume:
Evaluate of the bone height (left upper sector)
Evaluate of the high density image in the left maxillary sinus
Evaluate Ostium patency.
RADIOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUE:
Dentascan imaging series. A radiology report to evaluate the anatomical volume was performed.
RADIOGRAPHIC FINDINGS:
The listed structures are reviewed and evaluated for bilateral symmetry, configuration, cortical outline, medullary space, and patent sinuses/airways. Evaluation of the dentascan anatomical volume is intended as an overall review for pathology and abnormalities not directly associated with dental and periodontal conditions best imaged by conventional dental radiography.
All viewed structures determined to have no significant findings are reported as no abnormalities detected.
Paranasal Sinuses: Presence of a high density images in left sinus measuring 20.11 *18.06 (H*V) and in right maxillary sinus measuring 15.5 * 8.8 (H*V). Both ostium are patent and the distance between the left crest and the left ostium is 32.63mm and from the dome of the thickening to the ostium is 19.13 mm (screen shots at the end of the report).
The posterior sup alveolar artery is situated at approximately 19mm from the alveolar crest (screen shots at the end of the report).
Nasal Cavities: Mild thickening of the nasal mucosa with a lateral deviation of the septum
Airway: No abnormalities detected
Temporomandibular Joints: Both joints are well visualized and no abnormalities are detected
Osseous Structures: Edentulous posterior left segment covering the three molars and measuring horizontally 29.02 mm (screen shots at the end of the report).
Opposing the middle fossa of the first lower molar the upper bony height is between 3.94 mm on the para axial cut and 3.54 mm on the panoramic cut (screen shots at the end of the report).
Opposing the middle fossa of the second lower molar the upper bony height is between 6.75 mm on the para axial cut and 6.90 mm on the panoramic cut (screen shots at the end of the report).
Edentulous anterior right segment covering the cuspid region and measuring horizontally 9 mm. At the center point of edentulism the bone height is approximately 19.9 mm and the bucco palatal width 5.31 mm (screen shots at the end of the report).
Dental findings:No abnormalities detected
Other findings:No abnormalities detected
IMPRESSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
All viewed structures were determined to have no significant findings and are reported as no abnormalities detected except:
*The two high density images in the sinuses consisting of a thickening of the schneiderian membrane.
*The possibility of mucous retention cyst may not be ruled out.
The purpose of this image examination is to provide an evaluation of the regional anatomical volume not directly involved with the specific intent of the imaging examination. Evaluation is limited to the capability of the dentascan imaging and any further assessment of dental related conditions is best performed by conventional dental radiography. This is a consultative report only and is not intended to be a definitive diagnosis or treatment plan.
Thank you for the referral of this patient and the opportunity to serve your practice.
